This website was born out of two things: my lifelong passion for fantasy sports and my love for my family. As a dad with a wife and three little girls, I have to be careful with two precious resources—money and time. If I were still a single guy with no kids, I would likely be staring at multiple screens every night and spending all of my money on DFS. Like many other DFS enthusiasts, I have had other obligations for the last 12 years or so. I have learned to play with a budget and to find affordable resources to have a fighting chance against the pros and wannabe pros with far more time and money.
Some folks might say, "If you don't have the time and money, just don't play." But for those of us who love the thrill and strategy of fantasy sports, that perspective is never going to make sense. Rather than quitting, we need to think more about what games to play, how often to play, and how we prepare to play. My vision for DFS Profits is to help bridge the gap—to make DFS more manageable for those who never want to quit playing Daily Fantasy Sports.
There's no shortage of touts, services, and tools out there trying to "help" DFS players—often for a fee. The problem is, it can be a lot to navigate, and you never know which ones are actually helpful and worth the cost. That's where I want to come in. My goal is to cut through the noise, check out these sites and services, and let you know which ones are really worth it. I want to make DFS a little less overwhelming, and maybe even help you stretch that bankroll a bit farther before it's tapped out.
Is it possible to profit consistently as a casual DFS player? Probably not for the majority of players. After all, casual players are always counted on to fund casinos and other betting markets. It is all about the thrill and the hope of a quick and easy payday. But if you set yourself a budget—say $100 for the season—and your preparation is more in line with the pros, maybe, just maybe, you can stretch your budget further and win some big tournaments once in a while. I want to help you understand the basics, point you in the direction of the best resources, and give you an honest overview of the industry: what's helpful, what's hype, and what you can safely ignore.
I also hope for input from the community about resources I don’t know about. In my wildest dreams, I imagine this site being a sounding board for strategy and a trusted place for evaluating resources. I want to eventually have other writers, giving more perspective on ways to approach DFS. I also think players would be interested in personal stories from the leaders of the industry. In general, I want this site to be a positive resource for the casual DFS player.
So, welcome to DFS Profits. Let's make sense of the madness together, and have some fun while we're at it.
